Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search widget is submitted to the provider that supplies that result path. Our servers do not retain a copy of those queries. If you email us, we receive the content of the message and use it to respond.
Data We Gather Automatically
Hosting services create ordinary technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, page requests, and timestamps. We use aggregate information to maintain the service and understand page traffic. Cookies or similar tools may be used for basic measurement and, when present, advertising measurement.
What We Do With This Data
We use this limited information to operate the service, resolve technical issues, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. We do not sell lists of visitors or assemble individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Can Process Data
Hosting and support providers process technical logs for the site. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires it.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Choices
You may ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold. New York’s SHIELD Act, General Business Law §§899-aa and 899-bb, concerns safeguards and breach notification for covered private information; it does not create a public-record removal right. Because this service retains little information, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and available technical logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Records held by New York, Rockland County, or municipal custodians must be addressed to that custodian.
Updates to This Policy
We will post revisions to this policy here. Continued use after publication means the revised version applies.
